Lie to me and tell me I will be okay.
Tell me that pain is recovery, and recovery is life.
Lie to me, and rest easy.

Lie to me as you comfort me,
Lie to me as you console me.
Lie to me as your calm me in the storm of fear and anxiety,
Lie to me and soothe me in the times of anger and rage.
Lie to me, and rest easy.

Lie to me when you hold me close.
Lie to me as you hear my heart beat faster and faster and faster as every single mistake I have ever made reminds me that I am not good enough, that I will never be good enough, that the only person who will ever love me is you.
Lie to me and mop my sweat your tidal wave of shame breaks over me,
Lie to me and hold me as the tears come, hard and cold in their bitterness.
Lie to me, and rest easy.

Lie to me in the darkness and the lights are turned off
Lie to me when you lie against my back
LIe to me when I am shaking and I am crying
When the struggle to be whole is too much,
Lie to me and tell me I will be okay.
Lie to me and rest easy.
Lie to me, I’m already gone.
